Receiving Orders When a customer makes a purchase from any sales channel, it appears on your Orders page. Each order goes through three stages: payment capture, fulfillment, and archiving.
Typical Order Flow
- Order placed → Capture payment
- Order paid → Fulfill the order (pick, pack, ship)
- Order fulfilled & paid → Archive the order
Managing Orders From the Orders page you can:
- Search by order number, customer name, or product
- Filter by fulfillment status, payment method, or date range
- Edit orders (add/remove products, update quantities, change addresses)
- Print packing slips, pick lists, and invoices
- Issue refunds or cancel orders when needed
Fulfillment Options You can fulfill orders yourself, use a third-party fulfillment app, or buy and print discounted shipping labels directly from your Shopify admin through integrated carriers.
Automation Order processing steps (payment capture, fulfillment, archiving) can be configured to happen automatically in Settings > Checkout > Order processing.
